Summer 2014 Dates and Deadlines Registration Pre-registration dates for Summer I and II: February 11 (Tuesday) - March 21 (Friday) Open Registration for Summer I and II to non-DSU students: March 22 until last day to add Web registration for summer I will end Thursday, May 8, 2014 . Signed add slips will be required after May 8 until the last day to add classes for Summer I ( Friday, May 16 ). Web registration for Summer II will end Thursday, June 26, 2014 . Signed add slips will be required after June 26 until the last day to add classes for Summer II ( Monday, July 7 ). Registration for summer classes is now available to DSU students! Students have until May 2, 2014 to register for Summer Session I courses and until June 20, 2014 to register for Summer Session II courses. Financial Aid Complete the Summer Financial Aid Request Form by April 15 and contact the Office of Financial Aid to review your eligibility for summer aid. To access the form from the DSU Homepage, click Financial Aid from the top ledger, select Financial Aid Forms & Publications from the menu, under General Documents select Summer Financial Aid Request Form and complete. The financial aid office must wait for spring grades to post to assess complete eligibility. Federal financial aid will not cover the cost for summer courses and it is necessary to enroll on the Tuition Payment Plan or consider a Parent Plus Loan or Private Loan which must be applied for by April 15, 2014 . Student Accounts We are pleased to offer an interest-free Tuition Payment Plan as an alternative to paying tuition and expenses in full prior to the start of the term. Please see Student Accounts for enrollment dates. Bill Due Dates for Summer 2014 Students must satisfy their bill for Summer Session I by April 25, 2014 . Removal for Non-Payment for Summer I on May 8, 2014 . Students must satisfy their bill for Summer Session II by June 25, 2014 . Removal for Non-Payment for Summer II on June 26, 2014 . -- ATTENTION ALL FULL-TIME UNDERGRADUATE AND GRADUATE STUDENTS The Student Health Insurance Plan 'Waiver/Enrollment Period' is now open for the spring 2014 semester and will close on February 14, 2014. This is a mandatory hard waiver plan; therefore, students are automatically billed for the Student Health Insurance Plan each semester through their Student Account. All full-time undergraduate and graduate students must waive out or enroll into the health insurance plan. Once a waiver has been submitted and approved by AIG, Student Accounts will remove the Student Health Insurance Plan premium from the student's account. The wavier/enrollment deadline is February 14, 2014. Students who already have insurance coverage that meets the federal requirements - including those under the age of 26 who are enrolled in their parents' plan - can opt out of the University's student health insurance plan. Full-time students without health insurance, or enough insurance coverage that meets the federal requirements, will be provided access to a cost-effective health plan through AIG for an annual cost of $1,102 ($551 per semester). You must enroll into the plan to activate your health coverage which begins on January 13, 2014 (If you are currently enrolled into the plan your coverage will end on January 12, 2014). Graduate students taking a total of six (6) credit hours per term (three [3] credits each session) are considered full-time and must waive out or enroll into the insurance plan. You can complete a waiver request or enroll into the plan at www.studentinsurance.com/schools/DE/DESU After February 14, 2014, students who did not waive out of plan will be enrolled into the plan until July 31, 2014. STUDENT HEALTH INSURANCE PLAN FOR FALL 2013 WAIVE OR ENROLL BY SEPTEMBER 30 Due to the new federally mandated health care law, the Affordable Care Act, college students must now have sufficient health care coverage. Beginning with the Fall 2013 semester, there are two options you must choose from by September 30 in order to meet this federal law. OPTION 1: If already insured, waive DSU's student health insurance plan. All full-time students are automatically enrolled in and billed for the plan; you must waive coverage by September 30 by completing an online waiver form. Once your waiver is verified by AIG insurance company, the University will update your student account and a credit will be issued. OPTION 2: If not sufficiently insured, enroll in DSU's student health insurance plan. Full-time students without health insurance - or enough insurance coverage that meets the federal requirements - will be provided access to a cost-effective health plan through AIG for an annual cost of $1,102 ($551 per semester).
